  1. MATRIX, INK, TORCH: DISCOVERING ENGRAVING

Idea of Barbara Viale and Coop Zoe's operator
Areas of interest: woodcut, artistic techniques
    Place of performance:  museum
    How to conduct: 2h meeting
Project: the first phase of the workshop includes the observation of some xylographs chosen by the Righetti Archive, supplemented by a theoretical explanation on the engraving technique and on the role of woodcut in the 20th century. In this way, the participants will approach in a more stimulating way the materials and the instruments that are at the origin of the prints and the engraved matrices. In the second phase they will directly experience the preparation and construction of a wooden matrix and the subsequent inking and printing stages of the press.
